Bilge Karakas
Bilge joined Alcazar Energy in December 2024 and serves as Senior Environmental and Social Specialist. In her role, she provides comprehensive environmental and social (E&S) support to the ESG team, ensuring effective integration of environmental and social considerations across projects. Her responsibilities include Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), performance monitoring, lender compliance, E&S management systems, HSES auditing, and due diligence for transactions and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Alcazar Energy, Bilge worked for over 15 years in E&S consulting across the energy, transportation, infrastructure, and oil & gas sectors. She has held various roles as a consultant, lender, and contractor, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on addressing E&S challenges. Her career spans Türkiye, Tanzania, Oman, the UAE, and Iraq, where she has supported national and multinational clients, as well as international financial institutions.
Bilge holds a degree in Environmental Engineering and began her career in Türkiye with consultancy firms before transitioning to Garanti BBVA Bank. She later worked on the contractor side in Tanzania and continued her career in Dubai as an E&S consultant.
