Tanja Dimitrova Filkoska
Tanja joined Alcazar Energy in December 2024 as an Environmental and Social Specialist, providing expert support to the ESG team throughout all phases of renewable energy projects. Based in North Macedonia, she plays a key role in conducting comprehensive environmental and social (E&S) due diligence, ensuring projects adhere to national and international best practices and E&S frameworks. Her responsibilities include support in managing environmental assessments, permitting processes, land acquisition, and facilitating community and stakeholder engagement. Tanja also monitors E&S performance during development, construction, and operations, coordinates engagement activities, and supports the implementation of Alcazar Energy’s social responsibility strategy. As the primary local interface with E&S consultants, advisors, governmental authorities, and other stakeholders, Tanja is integral to the ESIA process and the ongoing project lifecycle.
With over 10 years of experience in E&S consulting, Tanja has worked across diverse sectors, including energy, transportation, infrastructure development, mining, urban development, and sustainable waste management. In roles such as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Expert, Project Manager, and Environmental Supervisor Assistant, she has ensured compliance with EBRD, IFC, and national standards while addressing complex environmental and social challenges. Tanja excels at integrating E&S considerations into project designs, overseeing mitigation measures, and leading stakeholder engagement initiatives and public consultations that support the achievement of sustainable development goals.
Tanja’s expertise also extends to managing international, high-impact research projects focused on environmental challenges, such as the circular economy and industrial waste reuse. Funded by programs like HORIZON 2020 and ERASMUS+, these projects have strengthened her collaborations with international research institutions, demonstrating her broad global experience. She has also worked closely with financial organizations, including the EBRD and the World Bank, further expanding her expertise in the field.
Tanja holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Science from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in North Macedonia. She began her career at consulting and research institutions in North Macedonia, and in her current role at Alcazar Energy, continues to provide essential support to the Environmental and Social team, driving sustainability and regulatory compliance across the company’s projects.
