Mohamed Zidan

Mohamed joined the team of Alcazar Energy in 2017 and currently serves as Senior Director – Egypt. His responsibilities include originating new business opportunities, stakeholder management, and attainment of project permits and authorisations.

Mohamed has over 29 years of experience in the electricity generation and transmission fields within Egypt and the UAE. As part of Alcazar Energy Partners (AEP-I), Mohamed served as a Board of Directors Member of the Benban Developers Association. Prior to joining Alcazar Energy, Mohamed worked for the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) as head of the renewable energy unit since the beginning of the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) program in 2014. He was responsible for the development of 2GW solar PV parks and 2GW wind plants within the FiT program. He also participated in the preparation Project Principal Agreements (PPA, NCC, UA) and the Egyptian Solar Code. Prior to that, he worked for over 11 years at Al Ain Distribution Company, one of ADWEA subsidiaries in the UAE, as Maintenance Engineer and later on as Senior Projects Engineer. He started his career in EETC in 1994 where he worked as Metering & Power Quality Engineer.

Mohamed holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power and Machines Engineering from Mansoura University and he is a Certified Project Manager from Emirates University.
